The truth has set her free

The truth has set her free

Well Dawn has made her final journey, she has met her savior face to face and the pain has left her body, praise God! Yes I praise God that she is with Him, I praise Him that she has moved in to her new home, and yes I still praise God that He has counted us worthy to endure this trial. You see we truly believe that the Lord has and always will have our best interest at heart, and because of that we can also know that we as a family will come through this. Yes our hearts are hurting, yes our tears are flowing, yes we miss our beloved wife and mother, and yes we even sometimes question God, but these things will never change the truth, the truth that He is God!

As I look back on the events of the past six months I cannot help but be amazed and blessed by what I have seen, the people we have encountered, and the lessons we have learned. I have seen and felt the pain of seeing a loved one consumed and succumb to a deadly and vicious disease, a disease intent on destroying life. It seems rather ironic to me that cancer survives and thrives on living cells, consuming them with an intensity that eventually causes its own death. I see it as very much the same pattern that evil has in this world. The desire to consume all it can while it can, only to end up dying from its consumption, and by its death and the death of that which it consumes life comes forth. Life free from the possibility of cancer or the influence of the evil that destroyed it, yet the evil dies never again to wreak havoc. And to think there are those out there who chose to believe in this evil, those who place their trust in its consuming power, those who deny the obvious in order to maintain a false sense of control. May I just say this one thing; the path Dawn has taken awaits each and every one of us, we must all walk into the next life, and unlike Dawn some will have made the wrong choice, some will have held on to their false sense of security, only to realize the truth in the end, but for them it will be too late. I implore you today to take a look, to view the Gospel with the same open mind you have viewed other thoughts, ideas, or religions. For if you do I believe that you too will find the truth, and the truth will make you free!

  1. Oh, yes, We must count it all Joy! For you my Brother have a new joy set before you; that you will see your lovely wife again! We all have a Joy set before us; to be with Jesus in Glory for all eternity! This just kind of sets things in perspective a little better, and puts on us a path that gives more glory to God as we serve Him; knowing that this world, with all of it's treasures, has nothing compared to the Glory that awaits us all! Be strong in the Lord and Press on!

  2. Gene, you are the most amazing man of God that I have ever had the privilege to call my friend! You are such a blessing to your family. The way that you have been able to take this experience and use it to share the Word of God is incredible.
You and Dawn have raised wonderful girls who are awesome women of God. All of you are an amazing testimony to what real FAITH, HOPE and LOVE looks like.
As Dawns freedom was granted much sooner than anyone wanted, you continue to share Gods word and His work in your lives. He has given you an amazing gift of being able to beautifully communicate with the written word. Thank you.
You will continue to be in my prayers every day.

  3. Yes Gene, we are living to die to this world only to await an eternal existence with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is not just a god he is the Alpha and the Omega. Without him our life here on this earth is for not. We did not learn the lessons, we do not see the beautiful experiences he has for us and we cannot imagine the path he has for our life. I for one want that. Without him we die before our physical bodies leave this earth.

  4. What a great way to look at life in the her and in the future. God is truly amazing. Everything has a plan and a purpose even if we don't always know the outcome. He never said living a life as a Christian would be easy. He did say that he would never leave us nor forsake us. He also said if you ask you shall receive according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

  5. We all know who wins the battle in the end....we are in the know ....so to speak. Dawn has run the good race. It is up to us now to finish our race, to finish the good works that God has prepared for us in advance. One day we will all be together in a place that we will never have to leave and I look forward to seeing you all there. All the praise and glory be to God. Let’s take as many people as we can with us to heaven. God will give us the strength to carry on. We just have to look at things from an eternal prospective. So many people have been saved by what has happened with dawn and remember its not, good bye, it’s see ya later.

  6. Speaking of a race……I can see Dawn coming up to the finish line. A huge crowd of people welcoming her into heaven, love is surrounding her and Jesus…. standing there with a cup of water saying, welcome home.

  8. Geno. You have somehow managed to continually find words for something that words cannot possibly express. Thank you for sharing what only the Spirit could speak through you. This is undoubtedly one of those times that "the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express ..." I wish I had words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss of one of the most beautiful women I (we)have ever known. How blessed you are to be her other half! And how blessed she was to have you! All our love, and a many hugs, The Klaiber Klan
